Air Travel
Travel to and from Shanghai by air is very convenient as Shanghai has direct air connections to most major cities in the world as well as in China. Currently, Shanghai has 2 international airports. One is the old Hongqiao Airport and the other is the newly built Pudong International Airport. Hongqiao Airport is located in the west surburb of Shanghai and is only 13 kilometers from the central city. Pudong International Airport is located in the southeast of Pudong Xinqu and is about 30 kilometers from central city. From Pudong International Airport to Hongqiao Airport, the distance is about 40 kilometers. Taxi and shuttle bus service are available at both of the two airports. Besides, there is magnev line available for transportation to and from Pudong International Airport. Train
By taking train, travelers can get to almost all the cities in China from Shanghai. Among the three railway stations of Shanghai-Shanghai Railway Station, Shanghai West Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station , Shanghai Railway Station is the major one. The tickets are divided into 4 kinds of hard seat, soft seat, hard sleeper and soft sleeper. Travel by train is a cheap, convenient and safe way in China. Ship
Shanghai, situated at the midpoint of China's north - south coastline, is the world's third largest port and China's largest seaport. Subway
Currently Shanghai two subway lines and one light railway. The two subway lines are Line 1 and Line 2. Line 1 starts from Shanghai Railway Station and ends at Xinzhuang Railway. Line 2 starts from Longyang Station and ends at Zhangjiang Hi-Tech State.

Taxi
Public bus is the cheapest way to get around the city. The bus fare starts at 1 yuan and increase to several yuan in most situations. The bus fare starts at 2 yuan for those with air-conditioning.

Public Bus & Trolley Bus
Bike rental service is available at larger repair shops, hotels or scenic spots. Pedicab service is relatively expensive and is more suitable for short distance sightseeing.
